Shamit joined SGE in 2011. He is responsible for originating and evaluating investments in the software, healthcare IT, information services, and security sectors, and worked on SGE’s investments in HMP Communications, MMIT, Skybox Security, and Versafe. Prior to joining SGE, Shamit was an Associate at the private equity firm Great Hill Partners, where he focused on business services, software, transaction processing, and post-secondary education companies. Before joining Great Hill, Shamit worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Deutsche Bank.
Shamit received his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and graduated cum laude from Carnegie Mellon with a B.S. in Information Decision Systems and Industrial Management and an M.S. in Information Management Systems.
